Richard Harrison, Chris Oakland & Lee Dodd
Founder and owner of Smile Radio, Richard has loved music all his life. He has always admired DJ's and presenters, and wanted to be able to combine his love for radio with giving unsigned artists the chance to be heard by thousands of people.
Richard's ambition is to become the next John Peel – a bold statement indeed.
Having been friends since they were boys Richard and Chris decided to start their own show, Rich 'n' a Lil Bit of Chris with Lee – which you can listen to every Friday from 4pm.
They started out at 5 Towns Radio in Castleford, but soon realised their desire to present and produce their own show on Richard's very-own radio station.

Emma Scott - Pluggin' Baby

Emma Scott in her own words
Most of my career involved radio presenting, which I did from 1988 to 2013. Since 2013, I’ve been running my own radio plugging and PR company, Pluggin Baby LTD and worked with hundreds of rock and metal bands - as well as other genres.

I have also presented live music TV shows, hosted live concerts, been a voice over artist, blogger, band manager, helped run a record label and put on live music events in Birmingham, UK from 2006 to 2013.

I won three Promoter of the Year awards at the Pure Rawk Awards in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and a Live Music Business Awards “Best Local Promoter” in 2012. Massive highlights of my career!

I’ve presented thousands of radio shows and worked all over the UK at radio stations like: Kerrang! Radio, Q Radio, Heart, Power FM, Galaxy Radio, Hallam FM, Metro FM. (more details below)

I have worked for the two biggest commercial radio brands in the UK. Global Radio and Bauer Radio and was one of the top 20 Drive Time presenters in the UK whilst at rock and metal station, Kerrang! Radio. I was approached by BBC Radio 1 twice in the late 90’s.

For 9 years, I’ve been running my own company Pluggin Baby LTD and working with mostly independent artists to get them radio airplay, reviews and online coverage of their new releases.

fun fact: Emma has burped off against Dave Grohl!
Catch Pluggin Baby brand new Thursdays 4-6p.m and Replayed Saturday 8-10a.m

Kevin Chippendale – Chipp Ahoy
Kevin has a new edition of his Chipp Ahoy show every Friday from 1.30pm live on Smile Radio – playing the best eclectic mix of the ages, exclusive to Smile!
From world music to the most recent chart hits, you can request a song and Kevin will do his best to play it. If you have a story relating to your choice – even better, we can share that with the listeners as well. Kevin tells stories collected over his many (many) years listening to and playing music.
He has also recently launched a brand-new show on a Wednesday (from 10am), where he plays the best music from the 1970's – from Glam Rock, through Reggae and Disco to Punk Rock.
There are occasional themed shows, and Kevin is always open to suggestions for themes and requests. There will be stories to go with a lot of his choices, because it was Kevin's formative decade musically and he was living in London, so there are lots of experiences to share. If you have any stories, particularly gigs you saw, from the decade then let Kevin know and he'll include them.
