Richard Harrison, Chris Oakland & Lee Dodd
Founder and owner of Smile Radio, Richard has loved music all his life. He has always admired DJ's and presenters, and wanted to be able to combine his love for radio with giving unsigned artists the chance to be heard by thousands of people.
Richard's ambition is to become the next John Peel – a bold statement indeed. Having been friends since they were boys Richard and Chris decided to start their own show, Rich 'n' a Lil Bit of Chris with Lee – which you can listen to every Friday from 4pm. They started out at 5 Towns Radio in Castleford, but soon realised their desire to present and produce their own show on Richard's very-own radio station. |

Nathan Downes
Nathan has been DJ-ing since he was just seven years old, helping his father, Terry Hill, at various venues.
In 2017 Nathan started his radio show on a local radio station but soon left to join Smile Radio from its inception. Nathan’s approach is very unique – he plans absolutely nothing, meaning everything is off the cuff and totally unscripted. It's quite apt then, that his trademark saying is 'What could possibly go wrong?' You can join Nathan on Saturday mornings from 11am – it’s only an hour but it’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face! |
Kevin Chippendale – Chipp Ahoy
Kevin has a new edition of his Chipp Ahoy show every Friday from 1.30pm live on Smile Radio – playing the best eclectic mix of the ages, exclusive to Smile!
From world music to the most recent chart hits, you can request a song and Kevin will do his best to play it. If you have a story relating to your choice – even better, we can share that with the listeners as well. Kevin tells stories collected over his many (many) years listening to and playing music. He has also recently launched a brand-new show on a Wednesday (from 10am), where he plays the best music from the 1970's – from Glam Rock, through Reggae and Disco to Punk Rock. There are occasional themed shows, and Kevin is always open to suggestions for themes and requests. There will be stories to go with a lot of his choices, because it was Kevin's formative decade musically and he was living in London, so there are lots of experiences to share. If you have any stories, particularly gigs you saw, from the decade then let Kevin know and he'll include them. |

THE PUNK AND THE PRINCESS
MIKA MAMON: Our Princess, Mika is a multi-talented musician in her own right. Check out www.mikamamon.com. She is a multi-award winning vocalist from the Philippines now settled in the UK and spending her time between there and her family home in the USA. Her previous DJ experience includes a spell as a presenter on Kiss FM in Iloilo city. Not only that but she is a nurse frontliner and has written songs about her experiences in the fight against Covid-19. Her stage performances have been described as a cross between Bjork and Kylie. Her love of pop and ballads shines through on the show! DANIEL HUNT: Our Punk, Daniel, has played in bands for years achieving moderate success but nothing earth-shattering. He counts his biggest successes as playing Leeds Festival in 2009 with his band Interceptor and almost emulating Uncle Jimmy by coming second in a Formula 1 invitational race. He has previously worked as a presenter on Radio North Tees FM and on many an online show, though his work as a commissioner of mental health services and acting as Mika's manager and producer keeps him busy and out of trouble. |
