Now usually our variety of independent artists this 2019 have been generally, indie pop and Indie Rock, but today we take a side step to a genre that doesn't get as much limelight as it deserves these days, so on that note, we have a British born, singer and performer, No-El DaCosta, a soul singer inspired by the early Motown likes of Luther Vandross and Michael Jackson.
No-El is a busy performer, having performed at various stages, venues and festivals around the U.K and under his previous stage name JayR he was featured on the "TwiceAsNice - Ultimate Urban Experience" compliation album in 2006
In his time on the stage he has shared his music with R&B, Soul and Urban British Icons such as Kele-Le Roc, Egypt, Loose Ends, Sway, British Reggae singer Don Campbell and Cassandra London to name a few.
No-El Has performed at festivals such as Nottinghill Carnival, Brixton and Tottenham Carnival showing his versatility by performing his House/Dance Track “Love Is The House” released by Independent Label, Fear Unknown Records.
Noel developed his style at an early age, he grew up in a musical household and as a result Noel has had an everlasting, ever expanding passion for music giving him a window and freedom to express himself.
Noel has also composed and written for a number of artists around the U.K, his musical influences derived from his own source pool of life, love, sorrow, world issues and global, social injustices.
His love of performances and ambitions has enabled him to work as a lead singer with several bands for example “The Portugal Beat Company” a seven-piece band which specialised in live "House Music" Collectively they performed at numerous hot spots famed for House music, which included Dust Bar, Turnmills, Woodys and Ministry of Sound.
In 2018 Noel released his first EP "The Soul Man from the Endz" independently via various online platforms and continues to reap the rewards of sales as well as performing the tracks in and around the UK.
Noel is now working behind the scenes on some special projects to be unleashed to the public in the near future. So keep watching this space!
